Summary: The London Gazette published 5,163 corporate distress notices in May 2026: 3,743 liquidation, 1,013 winding-up, 148 administration and 0 receivership notices. That is down 1.1% on the previous month (5,222) and down 7.9% on May 2025 (5,607).

Counts are compiled from corporate insolvency notices published in The London Gazette, excluding solvent members' voluntary liquidations (planned closures of companies that can pay their debts in full), and reflect notice volume, not the number of distinct companies: one insolvency generates several notices over its life.
