K2 Partners for Business Recovery [Large Logo]Our approach

Everest is colossal, Makalu boasts astonishing rock walls, and Kanchenjunga defends itself with terrifying ice cliffs. But K2 is the most impressive of them all, the most difficult, the most dangerous

For any number of reasons, shareholders, directors and professional advisers may have to deal with issues that are unfamiliar, where if ignored these problems could jeopardise the survival of a great business.

Whether mounting losses, a cash flow crisis, a bad debt or lack of sales to grow, K2 provides a hands-on approach to addressing immediate issues while at the same time identifying strategic solutions for future growth.

Our hands-on approach to advice involves three phases:

  • Emergency phase – focus is on cash, cost, control and key stakeholders
  • Stabilisation phase – focus is on finance, systems, processes and resources
  • Growth phase – focus is on financing, planning and managing growth
K2 Partners - profile of a Turnaround

Wherever on the decline curve and whatever the situation, we can help.

Our approach to dealing with professionals is to work with existing advisers. Since our introduction to a client is normally by a company’s accountants or solicitors, they know their client’s business better than we do. It is often the case that existing advisers are professionals whose skills have not been fully utilised where we like to help clients build a closer relationship with their professional advisers as this will survive long after K2’s involvement.

In addition to providing ongoing services, a company’s accountants and solicitors offer a valuable source of independent feedback to K2 as we carry out a review of the business, consider options for change and develop a plan of action. In addition existing advisers tend to know where the skeletons are buried and can help us avoid pitfalls that are not immediately obvious.

In addition to providing advice we also invest in businesses to take equity in those with growth potential.
